Worth Considering when Choosing Your Eyeglasses!
Eyeglasses are also a modern accessory that portray an interesting and original look.
Eyeglass Frames According to +/- lenses
Strong minus lenses have thicker edges and therefore you might want to consider whether to choose a frame with wider temples covering thus the thickness of the glass, or a plastic frame where the thickness of the glass doesn’t stand out. In case of plus lenses, a smaller frame aperture helps to avoid excessive magnification of eyes.
Reading glasses
In case of reading spectacles that are taken off frequently, you might want to consider stronger frames. We do not recommend eyeglasses without frames as reading spectacles. Full frames made of plastic or metal last better. It would be good if the frames also had hinges – that adds to the spectacles’ comfort and are thus less susceptible to bending because of frequent removal. It also keeps the frames from deforming as much. The glasses should be removed only with two hands.
Metal frames
Metal frames are not suitable for people with metal allergies, neither to those who get disturbed by nose pads. The advantage of a metal frame over a plastic frame is that whenever the frame is broken, it is possible to fix it with laser welding.
Face shape
One of the criterion of beauty perception is that you might want to consider the shape of your face when choosing your spectacles. So as not to contradict the proportions of the face shape, a round face should prefer a more squared frame and a square face should prefer softer, round frames. People with oval face shape may choose from among all frame shapes. A narrow face wears a narrower cateye shape frame best and a wider face wears a bigger glass best. A long face likes more round frames, for example, many young people wear John Lennon inspired round vintage style eyepieces.
Choice of color
You might also want to consider colors – which clothes and accessories you have in your wardrobe and which tones suit the complexion of your skin best. Warm skin types (spring, autumn) wear brown, green and dark red frames well. Blue frames are more suitable for colder „ice queens“ or the skin types characterized as winter and summer.
Eyebrow line
Another aspect to consider is your eyebrow line – the upper edge of the frame should have the same curve as your eyebrows. The eyebrows should certainly not be covered with eyeglasses, rather have them slightly out of the frame or at the same height. A person with a strong eyebrow should not choose a frame that has a very strong upper edge of the frame – you might leave an impression of having double eyebrows.
Do you need several pairs of eyeglasses?
If you have the opportunity, you might want to consider purchasing more than one pair of eyeglasses because different activities like sports, work and leisure might need different style eyepieces.
The aim of eyeglasses in addition to correcting vision
In addition, think through which kind of impact you wish to achieve with your new eyeglasses; whether it is emphasizing your personal style or rather – change your current appearance?
